9 Holiday Scrapbook Layouts and Cards
Here are some excellent holiday scrapbook layouts and cards from our awesome Design Team members using our June 2022 collection, Stars, Stripes, and Sparklers by Simple Stories. Whatever your crafting preference is for your Fourth of July celebration the June collection includes everything we do to celebrate this holiday, from picnics to fireworks.
1. 4th of July Food Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Taylor
Sam loves the pops of yellow in this June collection. They are a fun, fresh take on the traditional 4th of July paper collection.
Sam and her family had a bit of a different 4th of July last year. They spent the long weekend in the Black Hills, so they didn't set off any fireworks or have any big BBQ's...but this month's kit still works great for scrapping those memories!
She used a 12x12 piece of the BBQ print paper for the base. Next, she layered an 11x11 piece of star paper on top of that. Then, she layered a 6x10 piece of yellow flower paper and on the top of that she placed her two 5x3 photos. Finally, she embellished with stickers from the included sticker sheet.
2. Fish & Chips Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Taylor
This kit isn't just for 4th of July scrapping. It's been great for scrapping photos from Sam and her families recent trip to London, too!
Sam used a piece of the blue striped paper for her base. On top, she layered a 4x12 piece of polka dot paper and a 2.5x12 strip of red gingham paper. Then, she added a journaling tag. Next, she added her 3x5 photos. She used the alpha stickers from the upgrade kit to create her title.
Finally, she embellished with stickers from the included sticker sheet and stickers and ephemera from the upgrade kit.

3. My Desk Scrapbook Layout by Megan Blethen
Meggy challenged herself to use the kit this month for a non 4th of July themed layout. She really loves the colorful diagonal striped background and deduced to start with that. Here’s how she made it:
She picked a background paper for her layout. The layout was a 6x8 so she cut it down to that size. Her photo was a 2.5x3.75, she cut the photos to this size. If you’d like or use one photo on your layout, you may use any size. Next, she cut the first mat for the photo at 3x4, the second one a little bigger than 3.25x4.25 and the third mat 4.25x4.75.
Also, she used the sticker sheet to add embellishment clusters in the bottom right of the photo, top left of the photo and to right of the photo. Then, she used the Alpha from the embellishment kit and added the title on the right of the photo, stacked on itself. She cut out a journal card from the patterned paper with 3x4 cut a parts and put it next to the title and above the photo (the left side).

4. Made in the USA Card (fun fold) by Lori Carson
Lori cut the paper to 8.5" by 8.5" then score on the diagonal at 2" and 4" all the way around. She mountain fold the 2" and valley fold the 4", the close it up. Next, she added a piece cut to 3.75" x 3.75" inside for a sentiment/message. Also, she added a belly band - roughly 1" x 9" - but you can size it to your liking and decorate as you desire. She added stickers from the pack and a die cut from the add-on pack. Watch the tutorial on this fabulous card here.
5. Star Cards by Lori Carson
These cards have paper that is double matted with card stock and embellished with die cuts and stickers from the add-ons from Pebbles and Jolee's Boutique.
6. Tags by Lori Carson
These tags were cut with Stitched Stars die cuts from The Stamps of Life. Then, Lori used the zip strips from the ends of the papers and attached them at an angle, cutting off the excess. She inked the edges, added twine, a sticker sentiment and a die cut from the Pebbles add-on. Watch how Lori made these cards here.
7. 4th of July Layout by Lori Carson
Somewhere in Lori's stash of photos, she had a picture of her youngest son holding the youngest sister of her oldest son's girlfriend at the firework show. Hopefully you followed that. Anyway, she can't find it but decided to make the place holder for it in this layout. First, she took the 6" of the red gingham and 6" of the blue stripe paper and cut them into 1/2" strips. Then, she glued down one side of the red gingham to the yellow paper.
Next, she wove in the blue paper and once she had everything spaced She glued down all edges. Also, she double matted two of the 3" x 4" cut a-parts, created a mat for the photo, added the 4th of July lettering from the Heidi Swapp add-on, and then finished it off with some more die cuts from Pebbles.
8. Chick-Fil-A Halloween Layout by Lori Carson
Lori's sweet niece, Addy, was born in October of 2019 so she was only a few weeks old on her first Halloween. For her first "dress-up" Halloween, she was the Chick-Fil-A cow and Lori's brother and sister-in-law were the employees. She used the other sheet of red-gingham paper for this background and mounted the photos and tags on black cardstock. All of the images she printed from the internet.
9. Tag Cards by Lori Carson
Lori had cut extra tags when she made the initial ones, so she decided to use up the remainder on these two cards. For the background, she added the rest of the zip strips to plain white card stock and then matted them with red. Watch how Lori made these cards here.
