9 Autumn Scrapbook Layouts

Posted On October 8, 2020 at 9:59 pm by / No Comments

Oh my gourd, autumn is here! Our awesome design team members are falling in love with the spicetacular papers and embellishments in our October Kit! They shared with us some gorgeous autumn scrapbook layouts to spark our creativity and get us started with scrapbooking this beautiful autumn.

1.  Thankful and Blessed Layout by Beth Soler

Beth used the Falling Leaves paper as her main background. To fade out the background as a frame for her photos, she put Liquitex gesso on the paper and spread it around with her fingers. Next, Beth printed out her photos (size 3x4) using the Project Life app on her phone and backed them with an olive-green cardstock from her stash. Stick the photos on with double-sided tape and you have yourself a beautiful photo layout!

Next, she added the thankful and blessed sticker and the banner sticker under her photos. She popped up the thankful and blessed sticker on some foam. As a final touch, she tore a small piece of vellum paper from her stash. Together with the apple barrel and happy together stickers from the kit, she taped the vellum paper in the bottom-right corner. She also popped up the apple barrel sticker on foam tape.

To prevent the vellum paper from curling up, she used a little fall leave sticker. Feel free to journal on the vellum with a brown pen to match the colors in the paper! See more autumn scrapbook layouts from Beth's YouTube channel!

2. Sweet on Fall by Marci Bensing

Marci chose three photos of her absolutely adorable grandsons rolling around in the foliage in 2017 - fall at its finest! First, she layered everything from the kit and chose her background paper. Then, she cut out 3 of the cut-a-parts and placed them next to the photos. Next, she took another sheet of patterned paper and used her Silhouette Cameo to cut out the different leaves.

Marci loves using twine in most of her layouts. So for this layout, she used them as a border around the cut-a-parts. Also, she used pop dots on the leaves and placed them on the page. She used the sticker sheet for "Sweet Fall" to add the squirrel and the leaves falling down, popped up for added dimension. Finally, she added typed journaling on the lower cut-a-part.

3. Fall is in the Air by Meggy Blethen

Meggy made a simple page to document the first tree in her yard to change colors. This was the perfect kit for that! First, she picked out a background paper and used 3x4 journaling cards from the main kit. She cut 2 photos to 3x4 and matted the photos using the Fall Forest paper. Next, she cut the Falling Leaves paper to 5.75x6.5 and tore the bottom edge off. She glued the photos slightly askew to the Falling Leaves paper mat. Then, she cut the Fall Forest paper to 6.5x7 and layered it on top of the journaling card.

As for the embellishment, Meggy added stickers and leaf embellishments at the bottom right corner of the photo and top left of the photo. She also added a third embellishment at the top right of the layout with stickers and leaves (lovely!). Next, she added the title to the top left of the photo embellishment cluster. Lastly, she added a journaling card to the bottom right corner photo cluster.

4. Fall Scrapbook Layout by Melissa Bierlein

Melissa started her layout by using the 'Leaves Background’ cut file from Paige Evans she purchased in the Silhouette Design Store. She downloaded the SVG file and cut on her Cricut with brown cardstock from her stash. The leaves were backed with patterned papers from the base kit. The cut file was adhered to the orange Stamping’ Up cardstock with foam tape for dimension. The edges of the orange cardstock are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink rusty hinge.

Photo/Journaling area: Melissa layered the photos with patterned paper from the kit and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink to achieve a rusty hinge. She then adhered them to the leaves background cut file. The journaling block is from one of the block pages in the kit. It is layered up with patterned paper also inked with rusty hinge. The journaling was printed using her Cricut on vellum and adhered it to the top. Then, Melissa added some Jolee’s stickers from the upgrades and added a cluster of stickers from the kit sticker sheet at the bottom of the photo area.

Title Area: The title is a Cricut cut file in the design space. She cut the black cardstock and the red buffalo check paper, layering them to add dimension. See these closeup photos for the depth of the title. Next, she added her pictures, overlapping them slightly. To complete the look, she sprinkled in some of Jolee’s glittery leaf stickers from the upgrade!

5. Climbing Trees Layout by Samantha Taylor

Since this is the quintessential fall collection, Sam thought she needed to create a fully fall layout. The tree paper especially was perfect for scrapping her sons climbing in trees during a fall camping trip. This layout features a mix of the base kit and the embellishment upgrade. Sam started her layout with the tree paper as her base. She layered a strip of leaf patterned paper on top of the base and layered another strip of dot patterned paper on top of the leaf paper.

Next, she placed a square piece of orange word paper on top of the base and attached her 2 - 5" x 3 1/2" photos on top of the word paper. She added a journaling card over the photos and some stickers from the base kit sticker sheet with the journaling tag.

Sam loves the upgrades this month, so she made sure to use them on this layout. She added a strip of glitter/rhinestone leaves along the edge of the dot paper. Then, she added additional "falling for you" and "family" stickers from the sticker sheet to the layout. Lastly, she added an acorn embellishment from the upgrades to the layout. We love how this layout turned out as it’s simple yet adorable!

6. Streets of Erfurt Layout

For this layout, Sam wanted to showcase that this kit is not just for fall photos. This layout uses travel photos that were taken in the spring. Much of the paper in the kit can be used for other themes - you may just have to stash dive for embellishments. All of the embellishments and alphabet stickers except for the "explore" sticker are from previous ScrapbookingStore kits.

She started her layout using a piece of orange plaid paper for the base. Then, she layered a piece of yellow chevron paper on top of the orange base and added a piece of multi color chevron paper over the yellow chevron paper. She placed 4 - 5" x 3 1/2" photos on the layout.  Also, she created a large focal point title starting at the top left-hand side of the layout and continued it along the bottom right side of the layout. Finally, Sam added additional embellishments to finish her layout.

7. Thanksgiving Layout

Sam's husband smokes the turkey for Thanksgiving every year and she makes just about everything else (Sam loves to cook). She snapped this silly photo of them in their aprons cooking for Thanksgiving 2019. This kit isn't just great for fall, it has some fun Thanksgiving stickers included that are perfect for documenting your Thanksgiving fun!

Once Sam saw the Thanksgiving stickers she knew she had to make a Thanksgiving layout. She started with a piece of red plaid paper for the base and added a piece of orange word paper along the bottom edge. She layered a piece of brown leaf paper on top of the word paper.

Then, she added strips of yellow chevron paper, multi-color chevron paper, and dot paper to the right edge. Also, she placed the "Still Falling For You Everyday" journaling card and layered a photo over the journaling card. Lastly, she embellished with stickers from the sticker sheet.

8. Happy Together by Sara Mishler

Sara used a sheet of cardstock for the base of her page. She chose a light color that coordinates with the collection, so she chose a starch white/slightly off white color. Next, she cut a 1X12 strip of the Falling Leaves paper and a 1 1/2 strip of the Fall Forest paper. She glued the leaf print paper on top of the buffalo print paper and set them aside. She fussy cut the acorn, owl, and fox image from the 4X4 journaling card paper and the extra cut apart on the collection kit front page.

Then, she placed a 4x6 horizontal photo one-third of the way down the base cardstock. Also, she added the strips of paper, one above the photo and one below the photo. She created a visual triangle with the larger fussy cut elements. Then she put and "fit in" smaller stickers and other elements creating a collage of elements across the middle of the page.

Sara used foam adhesive to give some dimension and she also used the Fall Leaves Repeat stickers and some buttons from her stash to add some non-paper embellishments to the collage. Finally, she created a small cluster in the bottom right of the page using the same elements for balance.

9. Happy Boy Scrapbook Layout by Shannon Allor

Shannon started her layout by choosing two papers as her background. She chose the Fall Forest and Falling Leaves patterned papers to create a triangular design. The photo was placed in the center with a triple mat using the same gorgeous patterned papers as the background. The yellow mat was the backside of the leafy design. The Happy word from Jolee’s had the perfect dimension to draw the eyes further to the photo.

For the embellishments: Shannon used the scalloped border sticker and it worked beautifully to create a shelf for the rest of the sticker embellishments. She also used stickers from the kit sticker sheet.

This simple design was finished off with a couple of brown enamel dots at the upper and bottom part of the layout. Be sure to see the process video on Shannon's YouTube channel.
