Project Inspiration for September Kit
We’re so excited to present our August layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our At Home collection by Echo Park.
Sunshine Smiles & Snacks Scrapbooking Layout
Melissa began her layout with a base of gold-toned paper featuring subtle squiggly lines, then added a strip of patterned paper across the lower portion for contrast and visual interest. She also incorporated strips from the darker paper in the kit along the top, middle, and bottom to create a balanced design. For the title, Melissa combined thickers from the kit with script-style words from her personal stash, and layered the photo over coordinating patterned papers for added depth. She finished the page with a mix of stickers, die-cuts, a journaling cut-out, and enamel dots for a polished look.
Happy Birthday Scrapbooking Layout
As shown in the photo, Melissa created a pair of elegant birthday cards using the same eye-catching folded design, giving each one its own unique personality through different patterned papers and embellishments. The geometric folds create wonderful dimension, while the layered birthday sentiment becomes the focal point on both cards.
To finish the designs, she paired coordinating cardstock with cheerful floral patterns, adding a delicate flower cluster to one card and subtle enamel embellishments to both for a touch of sparkle. These versatile cards show how simply changing the paper combinations can create two beautiful looks from the same creative design.
Celebrate Ellie Scrapbooking Layout
Meggy starts this layout by choosing four coordinating papers from the kit: Wonderfully Beautiful, Perfect Pouf, Must Have Macrame, and the 4x4 Journaling Cards. She trims the border strip off the Wonderfully Beautiful 12x12 background to clean up the base, then builds a layered header using two strips cut from Must Have Macrame—one about 1 inch and the second about a quarter inch—glued along the top for added interest and structure. She mats the two photos using Perfect Pouf to soften and frame them, then cuts two 4x4 squares from the Journaling Cards paper for extra design elements. One square is placed to the right of the photo, while the second is cut in half and layered slightly higher for dimension. The title is created with alpha stickers from the embellishment kit, split between the top left and bottom right of the photo mat, and finished with tags, rainbows, and enamel gems layered throughout for balance and a playful touch.
Good Vibes Friendship Card Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a friendship fun fold using papers and stickers from the kit, along with die-cut pieces and gemstones from the upgrades. This double lower gate fold features a card within a card - the short flap opens from right to left, and the longer flap opens from left to right to reveal a small top-folding card with a sentiment panel inside. She cut the card base and small inside card from black cardstock, along with layering panels from an assortment of patterned papers in the collection. To embellish the card, she used stickers from the sticker sheet along with die cuts and gemstones from the upgrades. She cut the inside sentiment panel from white cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of thepatterned paper used on the long flap, and added a sentiment from the die cuts.
A House or A Home Fun Fold Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a home-themed pop-up book fold featuring papers and a journaling card from the collection, along with die-cut pieces, gemstones, and foam alphas from the upgrades. She cut the card base from dark purple cardstock, along with a layering panel from a green patterned paper in the kit. She trimmed one of the larger journaling cards in the kit and notched the corners. She notched the corners of the background panel also and added a gemstone (from the upgrades) to each corner. She finished the front with a couple quotes from the foam alphas in the upgrades. She used a pretty floral paper and a little more of the green patterned paper used on the front in addition to white cardstock for the layers on the inside panels.
Home Is Our Happy Place Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a floating image card featuring papers and stickers from the collection, as well as gemstones and foam alphas from the upgrades. She cut the card base pieces from white cardstock, layering panels from black cardstock, and several coordinating patterned papers from the collection. She used some image and sentiment stickers from the sticker sheet and an asterisk (used as a flower) from the foam alphas in the upgrades to embellish the front of the floating image which is actually a smaller top-folding card! She used an additional sentiment sticker for the inside, as well as a leftover strip of one of the patternedpapers used. The photo below shows the side panels and the little top-folding card opened.
Blessed Matchbook Card Layout
Leslie created a matchbook card using papers and stickers from the sticker sheet. She says this card is definitely among the top ten easiest fun folds to make and will share the dimensions with us below. She cut the card base panel at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it at 1" and 6-1/4". Next, she cut two patterned paper pieces at 4-1/8" x 4-5/8" for the top panel and 7/8" x 4-1/8" for the bottom panel. Use a stapler to place two staples about 1/4" up from the bottom and then adhere both the top and bottom patterned paper pieces. She cut a strip from black cardstock at 1-1/2" x 4-5/8" and adhered it toward the right edge, and then embellished the top panel with coordinating stickers from the sticker sheet. She added some scalloped teal adhesive ribbon to the bottom flap along with a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet..
