Project Inspiration for April Kit

We’re so excited to present our April layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our Bloom Collection Kit by Fancy Pants.

Smiles & Hugs Card Scrapbooking Layout

Samantha Taylor

Sam couldn’t resist the gorgeous florals in this month’s kit—they practically screamed “Mother’s Day card!” right from the start. The soft colors and elegant blooms set the perfect tone for a heartfelt handmade card. But even though that was the original inspiration, the sentiment Sam chose is super versatile. With a simple swap or even as-is, this card could easily work as an encouragement, thank you, or just-because note to brighten someone’s day. For this design, Sam stuck to the main kit only—using both patterned paper and coordinating stickers to bring the card to life. It's a great example of how much you can create with just the essentials from the kit!

Wild Beauty Scrapbooking Layout

Samantha Taylor

Last summer, Sam and the family took a road trip out west to check out a few college campuses. On the drive from Montana to Wyoming, they carved out a day to explore Yellowstone—and one of their first stops was the stunning Mammoth Hot Springs. The swirling colors of the mineral terraces were absolutely mesmerizing, and when Sam sat down to scrapbook the moment, April’s kit instantly came to mind. The watercolor patterns in the paper mimicked those vibrant, natural hues perfectly.

To bring even more life to the layout, Sam layered in a piece of yellow floral paper for a fun pop of color. The finishing touches came from a mix of embellishments—some from the main kit and a few extras from the upgraded embellishment pack. Together, everything came together to capture the magic of that unforgettable day in the park.

Sixteen Scrapbooking Layout

Samantha Taylor

While April’s kit is bursting with florals, Sam proved it’s still totally perfect for scrapping boy-themed layouts too. For this page, Sam leaned into the cooler side of the color palette—sticking mostly to greens and blues to keep the vibe more outdoorsy and masculine. Instead of using the bold floral prints, Sam chose papers with abstract designs and soft fern patterns, which added texture without feeling too flowery. To finish it off, Sam pulled embellishments from both the main kit and the upgraded embellishment kit, mixing and matching just the right pieces to complement the photos without overpowering them. It’s a great example of how versatile this kit can be with just a little creative thinking!

Strike a Pose Scrapbooking Layout

Marci Bensing

Marci put together this fun and colorful layout using the April Collection Kit, starting with a solid black cardstock base that gives the whole page a bold, grounded look. She tore the top and bottom edges of a vibrant patterned paper filled with multicolor blocks, then centered it across the page to add a playful touch. Four 4x4 photos were matted in white and arranged in a grid right in the middle, capturing a series of silly poses. For the title, Marci used her Silhouette Cameo to cut out “Strike a pose!” in a bold script, anchoring it across the bottom. She added embellishments from the kit like flowers, word strips, and a large yellow bloom to create dimension and fun focal points, finishing it all off with a small journaling card on the left side. A quick, eye-catching page—done in about 30 minutes!

So Funny Scrapbooking Layout

Marci Bensing

Marci had a blast working with the April Collection Kit, starting by selecting a bold and colorful patterned paper as her background. She matted three fun photos and laid them out near the center of the page, keeping all the kit goodies within arm’s reach to spark inspiration as she went. Once the photos were in place, she added a journaling tag near the bottom and filled it in with sweet little details—planning to top it off with a cute bow for extra charm. Above the photos, Marci arranged die-cut flowers and leaves from the kit, popping one up with foam adhesive for a touch of dimension. In the upper left corner, she built a title cluster featuring a raised frame with the phrase “Hey Girl” inside, surrounded by layered word strips, more florals, and of course—an irresistible little bird embellishment that added just the right amount of whimsy.

Smiles Scrapbooking Layout

Emiley Steinbruegge

Emiley designed this bright and cheerful layout using soft pastels and playful patterns to showcase a fun family outing. She began by layering a subtle white cardstock base with strips of patterned paper—green, yellow polka dots, and mint—to create clean lines and visual interest. Emiley arranged five photos in a vertical column on the left side, using a green diamond-patterned mat to tie them together, then added two more vertical shots on the right to balance the layout. For her title, she created a lovely cluster in the upper right corner with layered florals, tiny birds, and the word “SMILES” in bold pink letters. A small sentiment sticker along the bottom that reads “isn’t life so lovely?” finished it off with the perfect touch of sweetness.
