Project Inspiration for April Kit

We’re so excited to present our April layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our Happy Easter Collection Kit by Miss Kate.

Hello Spring Scrapbooking Layout

Marci Bensing

She started this layout by layering patterned papers and separating each one with thin black matting, creating a crisp base that really makes the design pop. Inspired by a Happy St. Patrick’s Day card, she transformed the idea into a full layout, featuring a Julie Nutting doll stamp dressed in outfits made from the April papers for a fun and creative focal point.

For the finishing touches, she built a large cluster in the lower right, layering embellishments and the title with lots of dimension. Everything comes together beautifully using pieces from the kit and extras, while a bit of twine adds that perfect hint of texture and charm to complete the page.

That Face Scrapbooking Layout

Marci Bensing

Marci started this layout by building her basic background using March’s sketch, creating a solid foundation that guided the overall design and composition. She then moved to the top right area, where she layered chipboard letters onto a white cardstock banner to form the title, finishing it off with a charming chipboard butterfly for a soft decorative touch. Below the title, she added a ribbon from her stash over a border-punched piece of solid cardstock, then used twine to separate and balance the elements, adding texture and detail. To bring more depth and visual interest to the page, Marci created three separate clusters placed in the upper right, lower right, and middle left areas, each one thoughtfully layered and slightly popped for dimension. This layout shows how the April collection, while inspired by Easter and spring, can still be used in a flexible way to create any theme or story she wants.

Today Is Great Layout

Leslie Turner

Leslie started this card by building a soft and cheerful base using the pink gingham-patterned paper, creating a warm and inviting foundation for the design. She then added a delicate white die-cut panel to the center, using the lacy edges and a rhinestone border to frame the space and naturally draw attention inward. A sweet sentiment piece was placed toward the top left, adding a gentle focal point while keeping the layout balanced and airy. To finish the card, she layered a large pink sunflower along the right side, slightly overlapping the frame for added dimension and movement. The combination of soft pinks, warm browns, and subtle sparkle gives the card a clean yet eye-catching feel. This design shows how Leslie used simple layering and a cohesive color palette to create something elegant, uplifting, and full of charm.

Easter Card Layout

Leslie Turner

Leslie started these cards by mixing a variety of soft, spring-inspired patterned papers, creating a playful and cohesive foundation across each design. She combined stripes, polka dots, and subtle prints to give every piece its own personality while still keeping everything beautifully coordinated. The rounded corners and circular bases add a fun twist, helping each card feel light, fresh, and full of seasonal charm. She then layered on adorable focal elements like bunnies, Easter eggs, baskets, and a carrot patch sign, bringing each card to life with dimension and detail. Sentiments were thoughtfully placed to stand out without overwhelming the designs, while small embellishments help tie everything together. This set shows how Leslie used color, repetition, and layered elements to create a sweet collection of Easter cards that feel cheerful, balanced, and full of personality.

Spring Card Layout

Leslie Turner

Leslie began this card by building a soft, layered base, combining patterned papers to create a warm and balanced background that sets the tone for the entire design. She then focused on the center panel, where she arranged blush-toned squares in a neat grid, using them as a foundation for the dimensional letter stickers that spell out “SPRING.” Each letter was carefully placed to keep the layout clean yet playful, adding gentle height and texture. To enhance the composition, Leslie tucked delicate floral elements around the edges of the grid, allowing them to peek through subtly without overwhelming the focal point. She added a small sentiment strip across the middle, giving the card a heartfelt touch while also tying the design together. For extra interest, she layered coordinating papers along the side panel, creating a soft contrast and a hint of movement. The final result is a beautifully balanced card with a fresh, cheerful feel, full of dimension and thoughtful details.

Hello Spring Card Layout

Leslie Turner

Leslie created this card by starting with a rich green base, layering a textured panel on top to instantly bring in depth and a fresh, vibrant feel. She then framed the focal area with a stitched rectangular layer, drawing the eye inward and giving the design a clean, structured look. At the center, she placed a beautifully illustrated tulip panel over subtle striped paper, allowing the soft lines to complement the organic flow of the floral image. To add dimension, Leslie slightly raised the focal panel, giving it a gentle shadow and helping it stand out against the background. She kept the embellishments minimal yet impactful, adding a few gold accents for a hint of shine and elegance. A small circular sentiment reading “Hello Spring” was placed near the bottom, balancing the composition while reinforcing the seasonal theme. The final design feels fresh and polished, with a lovely mix of texture, simplicity, and springtime charm.
