Project Inspiration for August Kit

We’re so excited to present our August layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our Celebrate collection by Miss Kate.

Celebrate Scrapbooking Layout

Marci Bensing

Marci went all out to celebrate Talan’s big day with this vibrant birthday layout! She used bold colors, playful patterns, and party-themed embellishments to capture the fun of turning 13. From the oversized candle-cut “13” to the festive balloons and birthday icons, every detail brings the celebration to life. A double photo feature shows the birthday boy in his element, smiling and surrounded by balloons. This layout is bursting with cheerful charm and birthday spirit!

Celebrate Scrapbooking Layout

Melissa Bierlein

Melissa created a fun and festive Happy Birthday layout using a black patterned paper with balloons as the background, chosen to match the birthday boy’s shirt for a coordinated look. She added a strip cut from the cut-apart paper along the bottom of the layout to ground the design and bring in extra detail. On the left square, she layered a “Happy Birthday” element and popped it up with foam tape for dimension, then added a strip of blue star stickers along with scattered stars to fill in the white space. In the middle square, she placed a “How old are you?” sticker in the journaling area, while the right square features a chipboard “3” from her stash to highlight the age. To break up the sections, she added a 1-inch strip of colorful diagonal paper between the balloon background and the lower cut-apart strip.

Happy Day One Scrapbooking Layout

Melissa Bierlein

Melissa started this layout with a dark blue sparkle paper base, creating a rich foundation that helps the softer pink tones stand out beautifully while still complementing the overall kit. She layered the pink balloon-patterned paper from the collection on top, trimming it slightly on all sides to frame the design, then added two strips of layered patterned paper to bridge the transition between the background and the main layer. Her photos were matted with cardstock from her stash, with one lifted using thick foam tape for dimension, while the other was tucked under the paper strips for a layered effect. She added a chipboard frame to highlight one of the photos, then placed a painted white chipboard “ONE” at the bottom of the layout to anchor the design.

Oh Happy Day Scrapbooking Layout

Meggy Paulos

Meggy created this layout with a vibrant, confetti-inspired background that instantly sets a joyful and celebratory mood. She layered a textured blue cardstock panel at the center to ground the design, allowing the playful patterns around it to stand out while still keeping everything cohesive. To add structure, she included vertical strips of patterned paper along the side, helping guide the eye toward the main focal point.

Her black-and-white photos of Meggy were carefully arranged, with one slightly overlapping the other to create a natural, story-like flow. She framed the photos with subtle mats and added dimension by layering embellishments around them, including floral accents and small decorative pieces that bring softness to the layout.
