Project Inspiration for February Kit
We’re so excited to present our November layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our Sweet Valentine Special Scrapbooking Store Edition by Echo Park.
Love is in the Air Scrapbooking Layout
Meggy is creating sweet little pages for the 6x9 Elizabeth Craft Designs album her best friend gifted her for their wedding. For this spread, she trimmed her layout down to 5x8 and highlighted two of her absolute favorite photos from the day snapped by her daughter and full of pure joy and personality. She started with the Pink/Gold paper from the Carta Bella Wine collection as her base, layering a 4.75x6 piece of Love Letters by Echo Park on top. Her 4x3 photos are slightly offset for a relaxed, heartfelt feel, and the entire photo mat is adhered at a soft angle to add movement. Meggy clustered sticker elements from the main kit in three spots top right of the mat, between the photos on the left, and along the bottom right to create balance and flow. She finished the page with a floral border strip along the top and bottom for a polished touch. She did note that her kit included the Prima embellishments and main kit items, but she didn’t receive the wood veneer that were expected just a little heads up in case there was a mix-up.
What A Lovely Day Scrapbooking Layout
Meggy started by choosing her favorite photo and a beautifully coordinating background from the kit, then layered in soft mixed-media textures and stenciled details to create a warm, romantic foundation. Next, Meggy added a bold photo mat to anchor the design and surrounded it with playful hearts, florals, and dimensional embellishments that guide your eye around the page. The layered balloons, stickers, and ephemera bring in movement and whimsy, while the large LOVE title makes a strong statement. To finish it off, she tucked in a few word strips and tiny heart accents, creating balanced clusters that add the perfect touch of charm and personality throughout the layout.
You are the Sweetest Scrapbooking Layout
Marci is all about hearts, so the February Collection kit couldn’t be more perfect for this sweet layout! She started by selecting her adorable photos and a coordinating background paper from the kit. Then she grabbed a second sheet and used her Silhouette Cameo to cut a bold heart pattern that instantly became the focal point of the page. To finish it off, Marci punched four soft corner pieces to frame the design and layered in wooden hearts throughout the cutout, adding just the right touch of shimmer and sparkle. In the lower left, she built a playful cluster of words and tiny paw prints, while a smaller embellishment cluster balances the bottom right near the two photos. Her final touch? A charming tag tucked above the photo, tied off with a twine bow for that extra bit of handmade love. The result is a heart-filled page bursting with warmth, texture, and personality!
Faux Side Step Card Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a delightful faux side step card that’s full of charm and dimension! She started with a red cardstock base trimmed to 5-1/2” x 8”, scored at 3”, 6”, and 7” for a mountain-valley-mountain fold, then burnished the creases for crisp edges. Next, she prepared the faux side step panel from coordinating red cardstock, folding it in a mountain style and layering it with the kit’s pink-heart patterned paper. Floral and red-heart strips were added to the card base for a playful, layered look. Leslie carefully adhered the side step panel to line up perfectly with the base, then finished the back with a crisp white sentiment panel. Now the card is ready to be decorated with any embellishments for a sweet, dimensional touch!
Simple Pillar Card Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie designed a charming simple pillar card that’s as fun to fold as it is to admire! She began with a heavyweight white cardstock base trimmed to 5-1/2” x 10-1/4” and scored at 4-1/4”, 5-1/4”, 7-1/4”, and 8-1/4” in mountain folds, then burnished the creases for crisp, clean lines. To form the pillar, she carefully tucked and adhered the left-most section into the right-most score line, pressing the card flat in both directions to ensure it folds smoothly for mailing. For the decorative panels, Leslie layered the kit’s floral patterned paper onto dark green cardstock for the left pillar and paired lightweight white cardstock with dark green for the right-hand sentiment panel. Once everything was in place, the card was ready for embellishing perfect for adding florals, sentiment accents, or any finishing touches to make it uniquely hers!
Pop Up Block Card Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a stunning Z-fold pop-up card that’s just as fun to open as it is to admire! She began with a dark green cardstock base trimmed to 5-1/2” x 10-1/2”, scoring at 3-1/2” and 7” to form that classic mountain-valley Z-fold. After burnishing the folds for crisp edges, she added a custom-cut mat for her focal image, sizing it 1/8” larger for a perfectly framed look. To bring in dimension, Leslie crafted four pop-up blocks (1-1/4” x 5”), scored evenly and folded in mountain style. She layered the kit’s greenery-with-pink-hearts pattern on the front panel and pop-up squares, while soft light pink panels brighten the inside. Once the blocks were folded inward and adhered along the center crease, she carefully spaced them for a balanced pop-up effect and topped each with patterned squares. On the back, she finished it off with solid light green panels and a white sentiment panel in the center. Now the card is ready for embellishing whether that’s florals, a focal image, or extra heartfelt details.
Mini Bendi Card Scrapbooking Layout
Leslie created a fun interactive card that folds flat for mailing but stands beautifully for display. She started with a red cardstock base cut to 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” and scored at 2-3/4”, layering it with the bicycle, balloons, and gifts patterned paper from the kit. After gently working the center score line (without folding it in half), she added a red center panel scored at 1/2”, 2-1/4”, and 4”, topping it with a trimmed journaling card featuring boxes of chocolate. Adhesive was applied only to the small side flaps before centering and attaching the panel to the base, carefully lining up the score lines for the interactive effect. To finish the design, Leslie added a curved bottom strip layered with the black-and-white heart print, wrapping the tabs around to the back for a clean look. When the center score lines are flexed forward, the card stands for display, yet it lies flat to slide easily into an envelope. It’s a clever, dimensional design with plenty of room to decorate and make it uniquely her own.
