Project Inspiration for October kit

We’re so excited to present our October layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our collection Halloween Magic Collection Kit by Echo Park.

PUMPKIN SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Samantha Taylor

Sam created a super simple layout that's easy to customize depending on the paper chosen. Last October, Sam’s son had a school project where he had to paint a pumpkin for a local business as part of a marketing plan. Sam leaned into the pumpkin theme by using both the stickers from the included kit and those from the upgraded embellishment kit.

For the base, Sam selected the vibrant orange diamond paper. Then, a 12" x 6" piece of cobweb paper was layered on top, followed by a 12" x 5 1/4" orange and black dot paper. The photo of the pumpkin was placed over this backdrop, along with a journaling tag to capture the story. Sam finished the layout by adding lots of fun pumpkin-themed sticker embellishments, making it both super simple and fun!

HALLOWEEN TREATS SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Samantha Taylor

Sam's kids might not dress up for Halloween anymore, but the family still has a blast celebrating. Every year, Sam’s sister sends a box of Halloween treats, and Sam always makes a spooky supper to keep the tradition alive. October's kit turned out to be the perfect choice for scrapping these festive photos. For this layout, Sam especially loved the all-over word bubble paper, which added a playful touch. Using only paper and stickers from the base kit, Sam kept the design simple yet impactful, letting the fun Halloween vibes shine through.

AFTER PROM SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Samantha Taylor

Sam wasn’t about to let this kit be used for just Halloween photos! The star-patterned papers were absolutely perfect for scrapping a late-night After Prom event. As an added bonus, some of Sam’s photos had purple and orange lighting, which matched beautifully with the purple papers in the kit. Sam got creative with the sticker sheet too, using only partial stickers—like just the "crew" part of the "boo crew" sticker. It’s a great reminder that these kits can go beyond the holidays, especially with a little creative flair!

SWEET AND SPOOKY SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Melissa Bierlein

Melissa created a nostalgic layout featuring two photos of herself at age 12, showcasing her love for Raggedy Ann. She backed the photos with diagonal striped paper and a purple print, cleverly highlighting both the stripes in her shirt and contrasting with the black background. A portion of a free cut file, backed with papers from the kit, frames the second photo, with vellum used behind a pumpkin's face to create a subtle glowing effect. She added stickers and gems from her stash for embellishments, giving the layout a personal touch. Though she didn't use upgrades this time, she plans to for her next project.

GHOULS SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Melissa Bierlein

Melissa’s second October layout is a vibrant Halloween tribute, full of layered textures and personal touches. She begins with a 12x12 base featuring white paper sprinkled with stars and moons, adding strips of orange triangle paper at the top and bottom for contrast. Silver mesh ribbon from Stampin' UP frames the bottom, giving a touch of spooky shimmer. Melissa backs her three photos with green polka dot paper, mounts them on orange triangle paper, and uses foam tape to add depth. For journaling, she creates a flap from black sparkle cardstock, decorated with stickers and mounted on foam tape, with hidden journaling inside. The title, "Happy Halloween," is cut from black sparkle cardstock using a Cricut and elevated over the silver mesh ribbon, accented with green sparkle gems. Pumpkin embellishments from the kit and additional gems complete this heartfelt layout—a loving tribute to her late sister.

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Marci Bensing

Marci dove into her first project with the October kit collection and extras, excited to work with such a fun Halloween-themed set. Using Melissa's September sketch as her guide, she started by cutting five ½-inch black strips to create a bold frame and a "film strip" effect on the page. She bordered this area with a scalloped sticker from the Echo Park collection and added a strip of houses at the bottom from a 12x12 paper sheet. Marci carefully spaced out words within the film strip and embellished the layout with mini bat stickers and her grandsons' names in font letters. She matted the photos with white cardstock, added pumpkin stickers, and finished the page with a festive Halloween banner and twine bows. The final touch was a popped "got candy" sticker with the year tucked beside it.

CREEPY SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Marci Bensing

Marci's second Halloween layout with the October kit channels the September Live sketch by Taylor Stamped. She begins with a white cardstock mat for a crisp pop against the spooky patterned papers. Using dimensional pop dots, Marci raises the central strip below her photos—transforming it into a standout banner shape to mirror the 12x12 background paper. The details make this layout! An Echo Park spider sticker at the top adds a touch of creepy charm, and a ‘Happy Halloween’ title backed with pop dots flows down into festive balloon embellishments. For the middle star paper, Marci cleverly uses two 3"x1" pieces, conserving materials without sacrificing style. A haunted house strip and a tag cut from a 12x12 sheet bring in a dynamic, layered effect. Halloween fun awaits with this kit!

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN TRIPLE EASEL CARD LAYOUT

Leslie Turner

Leslie is loving the spooky elements in this month’s collection and has been busy crafting Halloween projects, including a stunning triple easel card. She started by cutting the three easel bases from light purple cardstock and layering them with black cardstock and two purple patterned papers from the kit. Each base was folded and scored, then layered with panels that fit perfectly: 4” x 8”, 3” x 6”, and 2” x 4”. After adhering the panels, she embellished each easel with stickers, papers, gemstones from her stash, and added a 'stopper' with a button and white twine bow. The result is a beautifully spooky card perfect for the season!

BOO CREW FUN FOLD LAYOUT

Leslie Turner

Leslie is loving the coordinating elements in this month’s kit and used them to create a unique Halloween card using her Joy-Z fold design, a combination of Joy fold and Z-fold she came up with years ago. She cut the card base, arm, diamond, and folded panel from black cardstock and layered them with orange cardstock and patterned papers from the collection. The card base was scored and folded to create a Z, while the folded panel was added with its fold on the right side. After layering all the pieces with patterned paper and cardstock, Leslie embellished the card using stickers from the collection and upgrades, finishing the inside of the folded panel with a little Halloween scene and space to sign.

HALLOWEEN MINI SLIMELINE LAYOUT

Leslie Turner

Leslie is having a blast with this month’s kit, especially with all the fun papers, stickers, and upgrade elements. She created a mini slimline card with an acetate front that’s easy to make and really eye-catching. The card base is 7” x 6”, scored at 3-1/2” on the long side, cut from black cardstock, while the acetate front is 4” x 6” with a 1/2" score. She layered the base with patterned paper and embellished the acetate with a Halloween banner, pumpkin stickers, and a cat sticker from the upgrades, adding a strip of paper at the bottom for a grounding effect.

MY PUMPKIN SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Emiley Steinbruegge

Emiley’s ‘My Pumpkin’ layout is full of charm, using a playful mix of Halloween-themed elements from the October kit. She layers her base with a vibrant orange diamond-patterned paper, giving a festive backdrop for the adorable pumpkin patch photos. To add a bit of pop, Emiley frames each picture with black cardstock for contrast, making each moment stand out.The title, ‘My Pumpkin,’ combines sweet pumpkin and black cat icons, capturing the spirit of fall with a dash of Halloween flair. Emiley sprinkles in cute, spooky embellishments—like spiders, ghosts, and a mini pumpkin trick-or-treater—adding a whimsical touch. The little spider web in the top corner draws the eye and adds texture to the page. This layout is a perfect mix of festive colors, layered textures, and adorable memories, all captured in one fall-inspired page!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

Emiley Steinbruegge

Emiley’s ‘Happy Halloween’ layout brings adorable style to this festive October page! She’s arranged playful circles in Halloween colors—purple, orange, and black—across a white background, creating a fun contrast that lets each photo and patterned paper shine. Emiley layers stars, stripes, and polka dots in her circles, balancing bold patterns with coordinating colors for a lively, cohesive look.

Her ‘Happy Halloween’ title is bold and pops beautifully against the mix of spooky-themed papers. Adding tiny enamel dots and a cute spider web sticker in the corner, Emiley gives this layout extra dimension and flair. Each photo captures sweet Halloween memories, framed by playful elements that make this design truly pop!
