Project Inspiration for September Kit
We’re so excited to present our June layout and craft ideas created by our fabulous Design Team members using our Open Road by Simple Stories.
Vacation 2026 Scrapbooking Layout
Marci created a fun vacation layout featuring family photos from a recent trip, using layered cardstock mats and a sunburst paper as the perfect backdrop. She fussy-cut the sunburst and tucked it behind the photos, adding travel-themed extras like the “vacation” title, airplane, world map, “you are here” sticker, arrows, and phrase stickers. She finished the page with the year 2026 and a typed location label for Umbrella Street, Dominican Republic, adding inked edges for a polished touch.
Let’s Go Scrapbooking Layout
Marci created her second September collection layout using the August sketch, combining two patterned background papers separated by a wide ribbon and a scalloped travel border sticker. She added neutral labels, typed details, camera and globe puffy stickers, travel tags, journaling, and rope bows for a personal touch. The “Let’s Go” and “Discover Together” stickers add dimension, while flowers with Nuvo Drop centers and coordinating puffy sticker accents complete this fun travel-themed page.
Happy Campers Gatefold Pop-out Card Layout
Leslie says the papers in this month's kit are uber amazing and have been so much fun to design with. She created a gatefold pop-out card featuring papers and stickers from this month’s collection, along with epoxy stickers from the upgrades. She cut the gatefold card base from gray cardstock along with layering panels and the belly band from coordinating prints in the kit. She used stickers from the sticker sheet for the focal image on the belly band and added a sentiment epoxy sticker from the upgrades. She cut the inside pop-out panel from white cardstock, layered it on a panel cut from a print in the collection, and embellished it with a leftover scrap from the print used for the belly band. She added more stickers from the sticker sheet and another epoxysticker from the upgrades.
Pop-out Fun Fold Card Layout
Leslie created a W pop-out card featuring papers and stickers from the collection along with epoxy stickers from the upgrades. She says she is totally loving all the coordinating items in this month’s kit and has had a great time creating these projects. She cut the card base and W element from white cardstock along with layering panels from prints in the kit. She added some stickers from the sticker sheet along with an epoxy sticker from the upgrades. She’s included a slightly overhead shot so you can see the construction of this fun card. She added a small stitched rectangle die cut for the signature area, which completedthe card.
Adventure Burst Fun Fold Card Layout
Leslie loves the travel theme and papers/elements in this month's kit, so she created a burst fun fold to show off some of the coordinating papers and stickers, along with epoxy stickers and neutral labels in the upgrades. She cut the card base from red cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the kit. She added stickers from the sticker sheet along with epoxy stickers and labels from the upgrades. She cut the sentiment panels on the back from white cardstock and added another sticker from the sticker sheet, which completed this fun travel-themed card.
Explore Double Flap Fun Layout
Leslie says she has thoroughly enjoyed playing with this month’s kit and is loving all the coordination from the travel-themed papers and stickers to the elements in the upgrades. She created another version of the double flap fun fold, which features a variety of pretty papers and stickers along with a large epoxy sticker on the front focal panel. She used three shades of orange for the card base and flap elements, along with patterned paper layers that she cut from prints in the kit. She added an epoxy sticker from the upgrades to the front, along with a sticker from the sticker sheet, which she popped up on a foam square. She added a few more stickers from the sticker sheet to the striped double flap panel. She cut the inside panel from white cardstock and embellished it with a leftover plaid strip used on the front triangle panels. She added a couple more stickers from the sticker sheet, which completed this cute card.
