Washi tape canvas art is a great and easy way to freshen up the look of any space in a home or office. Today’s inspiration comes from Dallas blogger Amy Locurto who shares how to make creative, fun washi tape canvas art using our favorite supplies!

First of all, this project is really fun to create and can even make for the perfect gift for a special family member of friend. Also, it is a really beautiful, personal hand made gift for any occasion including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduation, new home celebration, birth of a child, and so many other occasion. In addition, there are endless colors, patterns, and combinations you can use so this project is truly personal and custom. So here’s what you need:

  • Canvas
  • Paint
  • Wooden Letter
  • Washi Tape
  • Paint brush/sponge
  • Hot Glue
  • Modge Podge

Most of all what I love about this inspiration is the placement of the washi tape on the letters. It’s very, very creative and catches attention. Here Amy choses to create a pattern in a diagonal fashion using different patterns and size washi tapes. Also she uses colors and patterns that compliment each other and bring out the acrylic paint color on the canvas. Consequently, you can either place the washi tape as you see it here or you can try it straight across and even up and down. Seems like there are so many different ways to create a look that meets your needs.

Hence I’m heading to my craft room soon to make this beautiful project since I am attending a baby shower soon. Furthermore, I’m thinking of painting the background in a soft gray and use fun colors of pinks, teals, and orange washi tape to cover the letter!

**Update: The Baby shower canvas is now the guest book for the the event. What a great idea and perfect touch for the nursery!**
