Handmade Halloween Card
We are bringing you two handmade Halloween card designs made by a crafting gal-pal of ours. These cards can be made using Authentique’s Spooktacular Collection, which happens to be our October Kit of the Month!
First, she starts by finding inspiration for a googly-eyed monster which she draws out on the Orange patterned paper. Also, be sure to draw your monster our near the edge of the orange paper, place to paper to the side because you will need it later! If you are not the best freed-hander, you can use a stencil, cutout or find tons of traceable online for your beast. She also draws out the eyes and places it all together on white paper that is then cut out to create a border.
The hardest part is over! Next, she picks out some complimenting purple polka dot paper for the base of the card and lime green paper from the collection to serve as the background. A nice plain white page helps to add dimension and freshness as another background to this fun card.
Furthermore, grab some fun stickers for your title and a bold scrap of paper for your “CAUTION AHEAD”. You can find the “Monstrous” Alpha stickers and the Purple Spider Web accent with the Spooktacular collection this October. The trick to getting the layers of height here is using these nifty 3D-Dot square adhesives. There you have it!
This card is perfect for celebrating the Hallow season or even for a Monster or Dinosaurs theme party.
This next card will take you no time at all! Here’s the trick, you simply take the orange paper from which you cut out your monster. Flip it over and using a straight edge trimmer cut out the monster from the page so you are left with a rectangular orange sheet of paper and another where the monster has been cut out. Paste your rectangular orange paper onto your preferred cardstock color. You can use the same bold color paper (i.e. the teal paper here)as your background for the monster. Turn your monster cutout over and you should find a fun candy corn pattern. Glue your beast down, add some eyes and you just created another monster!
Furthermore, add your own flavor of touch to the title using alpha stickers, accents from the collection and your own unique creativity.
We absolutely love these creative and fun cards! What did you think? Leave a comment below on how you might have been inspired or are doing something different for your monstrous card.
